the girl giving you allergy tests says "I've only seen that once before" and later says "boy you are a mess." Good news is I am not allergic to water, cockroaches, and moonshine. I am now on a strict avoidance diet for practically everything else. Here's to cockroaches and moonshine!

The only bright spot was that the Doc did order two pens.

What about GRASS,
You could always graze the lawn, then you wouldn't have to mow it. LOL.
I had a friend whose last resort was the lawn, well that's what he reckoned.

Hope you can manage with the new restrictions, as long as there is a result it's not so bad.

Keep smiling,

Bob.

I was expecting that my issues would somehow relate to wood turning but my reaction to shop related things were minimal in comparison to everything else. I don't use ca for finishing and only had minor reaction to the various tree dusts. The biggest issues were food related. Can't eat chicken, turkey, pork, beef, or salmon. Can't go Vegan- lettuce, mushrooms and most beans and the majority of fruits are off the table. I can eat lobster, clams, crabs and most fish. Can't afford Lobster, so it looks like rice and fish for breakfast, lunch and dinner since I can't find enough cockroaches to make a decent meal. My stash of Moonshine is getting low as well.

The Doc said that tick bites could trigger meat allergies. I have had some bites in the past without any other signs of problems.

Oh well things could be much worse. Still have much to be thankful for and there is hope that the treatments will allow me to get back to a more normal diet at some point.

Sounds like you need to learn how to fish. A rice paddy in the back yard with a pond next to it for fish. Of course the still in the garage.

Can't you live off moonshine anyway?

Cody that really stinks, I had to go gluten free a few months ago and a few other small items on my list. No where compared to yours but I gotta say I feel a lot better. Less headaches, body aches etc so well worth the change. Hope you experience the same but hate you have to deal with it.

Yeah it's good to know and it's a relief that it is not shop related and I look forward to feeling better. I am just a little depressed over the limited number of foods that I can eat while on the avoidance diet. If that works, I can start introducing other foods. If that does not work, the next step will be shots.

I still have woodturning, hard liquor and my wife (I think). They did not test to see if I was allergic to women.

I'm tellin' ya. Moonshine can be made from grapes, bananas or what ever you are not allergic to.

A still in the garage and maybe your wife will forgive you for your temporary food limitations and her having to cook differently now.

Just don't start the power equipment after checking the output of your new garage installation.

Apples and pears are on my good list, so maybe things are not so bleak. Saw dust is combustible right so maybe you are on to something.

Oh My Gosh Cody

I have a very bad allergy to the Beef & Pork, about killed me 2 or 3 times. This developed late in life so I know what a good stake or a Big Mac is like and Good set of Baby Back rib's.

Started to get a sensitivity to mile products (ice Cream and Cheese) So Ice Cream and Pizza was out. But that has eased up some.

Told my wife if I ever get cancer, that will not be what get's me. I am going to Out Back for dinner.

At least I have Turkey, Chicken and Fish. I am not enveous. that old saying think your life is tough there is always some one that has it worse.

Fortunately, my reaction to meats is not as severe as yours and the avoidance diet will hopefully reset my system so that I can reintroduce some of the foods and if that does not work allergy shots may. In the short run, I am frustrated by the number of things that I cannot eat and am finding it difficult to get a satisfying meal.

This too shall pass. I count my blessings everyday and know that my complaints are petty in comparison to what others are going thru. Trying to find some humor in all this is one of my ways of coping.

Thanks to everyone who replied.

Years ago my sister-in-law suddenly began having terrible alergic reactions and they tested her and found she was alergic to almost everything. Then she, my brother and their daughter moved to Florida and the reactions stopped. After about two years they moved back into the same house and same environment they had left when the moved....No sign of any reactions. She lived another 36 or so years and never had another. So don't give up it might go away.

Well I am 2 and 1/2 days into the avoidance diet and am seeing some silver linings despite being hungry all the time. I am losing weight and am already seeing the results of avoiding the allergens, the health issues that I was experiencing have decreased significantly. Best of all, the allergy Doc called and ordered 4 more pens.

Man do I want some meat- hamburger, BBQ, steak, anything. Oh well, its off to the kitchen for some really bland and unappealing food.
