Concentrate on the road Buddy, we'll still be here when you get home safely tonight.
Take care.

I'm 78000 lb so shouldn't blow over..reduced odds at least. Its amazing the power of wind. I have 550 hp and she won't hit 65..and this is an 85 mph truck

That was always my goal... to hit 65mph with 75mph winds and 78,000 lbs up my backside.

Yea I read the whole thing and it sounds odd to me too. Thing is, we are out here working, regardless the conditions, and several people are counting on us to be on time. Safety needs to be the primary goal, but we also have personal pride to contend with and holding up other people never feels good so we tend to live it on the edge.

Jeff We've had 3 days of that crap, I hope you stay safe, a couple of full rigs got blown over last night just west of Memphis on I-40

I was listening to the weather at the point that (the two rigs in West Memphis/Marion) was reported. One Memphis channel (forgot which one) switched away from the regular programming, including "Dancing with the Stars," and spent about 6 or 7 straight hours reporting continous live updates on the storms coming through. My daughter was on the road coming in from Atlanta, Birmingham and into Memphis during this time. She got home safe but had to pull over several times due to heavy winds and heavy rains.

Lee I'm very glad to hear that you and your family are all right, three straight days of it was enough, I had to go to Middleton and pick up some wood, Two normally small creeks are now about 3 to 5 miles wide, and the Hatchie river came over on Hiway 57 it didn't wash it out, but there going to be a lot of ruined crops this year, either that or their going to be quite late. Good to see you posting again. hurry up on the house and do some pens, I want ti figure out how to do one of the Pin Stripe pens, Blue and White for the Yankees.
Now they say all of the tributaries and rivers in Memphis that feed into the Mississippi are going to spill because the Mississippi cant take the water, and it's supposed to crest 10 or 12 foot over flood crest. What a mess, and of course it all in the poor sections as well.

By doggie Ken, I am going to have to get up to see you sometime. You are not too far out of Memphis. For some reason, I had you closer to Nashville. My sister lives in McKenzie, used to live in Jackson until 4 years ago. I have just about forgot how I did that stripe pen, but it will be fun learning again!

The high waters are closing the 9 casinos here indefinitely, (probably 3 to 6 weeks) some starting this weekend and the others by next Monday or Tuesday. Only one may be spared of flooding but the high water will affect the cable/anchor systems to the point that they are all ordered to close.

Put the smart phone down and pay attention to your driving. I would hate to have to come to your hospital room and ca glue all the keys down on that phone. :-)
