Yet another seam ripper

A seam ripper made from persian turquoise tru-stone. I don't care for the plastic stub that the original ripper came with, so I yanked the knife out and imbedded it in a solid handle.

I agree -- hate the plastic so pull then out with heat and turn the tenon.

Nice looking seam ripper. I originally made them by removing the blade and embedding it in the handle. However, my close friend dropped hers and the blade broke and then it was no longer usable. Now I make them differently so that the blade can be changed if it breaks so becomes dull. My quilter friends tell me that they have to replace their rippers due to them becoming dull.

A Sailmaker's Seamripper

And here's one made for a friend who sews sails. It's made of teak in a shape reminiscent of a belaying pin.

Thanks. By the way, the blade in this ripper is replacable. It's press-fit so changing the blade is simply a matter of yanking it out and pressing a new one in.
