Had to get some new eye glasses the other day as my old ones broke. As soon as they broke I had to CA them back together so I could still see the world around me. Anyway the glue job worked about a day then I had to do it again this time using more CA. As I am in my truck most of the time, that I am not at home around the CA ,I put some in the door pocket, just in case. Anyway I got my new glasses but forgot about the CA in my truck ,until this morning, when I tried to open the door!

So if we start seeing warnings on bottles of CA against allowing the contents to come into contact with vehicle doors, we'll know who to credit???:tongue::rolleyes:
 
that reminds me of the time (i used to do this) I grabbed my bottle of med CA and to check to see if the nozzle was clear i would lightly squeeze and if i felt air on my lips then i knew it was open. Well, one day i squeezed just a tad too hard, and here came the CA, all over my mouth, i never freaked out so bad in my life. Instantly, all i could think was OMG, my lips are gonna be stuck together, how Am i gonna explain this to the doctors trying to separate them? Fortunately for me, I opened my mouth as wide as i could and started wiping it off. But, its like as soon as it hit my skin it started to activate, so unfortunately, not all came off right away. I had to peel it off later, after explaining to LOML what happened and her laughing her rear end off:frown:. sorry if i stole the thread, just wanted you to see that you are not alone.

Steel away, I think yours is a lot better than mine. I not going to blame her but the day before this happened my (better half) cleaned the inside of my truck, anyway the gasket on the door is what was glued ,opened with no problem, can't say the same for all the change in the pocket. Guess I can carry it around and write down the different amounts that I have and try to buy things that add up to it. for instance three quarters and two pennies is 77cents ,at least I have several different glued coin combos to use. Wonder if any of the venders here takes change (not loose change) that is.

Seamus, Try using the CA to glue it back on for her.

Did you all know that CA fumes will completely fog your new $225 glasses to the point that they are useless. Nothing can remove said fog from plastic lenses that will not attack the plastic ... well, nothing I, er, that other person I know about can find to use that is.

Ah yes, sooner or later we all will experience the perils of CA in all of it's useful forms ... liquid, solid, and gaseous! :eek:

Have any of you ever dropped a little bit of CA on a roach (the insect kind) and watched the crazy dance it does for about 1/1,000,000,000th of a second before it seizes up? BTW, it also works on spiders as well! :devil:
 
You guys are killing me! LOL! Too darn funny. Fred that is funny about the bugs. Have you then cast them in PR and turned them? I mean seriously, would someone really get worked up over you casting a TRUE spider blank? lol
 
Todd ... I personally have not cast anything YET. But, can you imagine how big around a spider blank would be. I believe the moisture in a spider body might be enough to cause most resins to fail. I have yet to see a dried up spider that retains it's proper shape, so I think a dried up one would look weird or something or the other. Maybe someone on the Forum has some 'insect experience?'.

Now, maybe a spider in a bottle stopper blank would be interesting, not to mention a Black Widow to add a new definition to ... "Here's your poison!" I have seen Rattlesnake heads cast into bottle stoppers and it definitely makes one pay attention when reaching for, or, removing the stopper! :eek:
