The casting part looks great and the fit and the finish on the kit are great but the blank does nothing for me. It is too random. Not enough design or blend to make it stand out. Just an opinion.

My thoughts are you made a unique pen, which could be double cast or cut on different angles to get the different styles or looks well done great looking pen, it also does spark off a lot ideas.

Smaller diamond pattern would have been better for a pen, however, I like your thinking and the excitement of experimenting with new materials!

very cool! Does the cardboard feel any softer than the rest of the blank or has the resin saturated it enough?

Once the PR (Silmar 41) hardens then it solidifies and saturates the cardboard so that it makes it easy to turn. A few drops of CA along the seams also assists in bonding the two together.
