A 50 caliber machine gun shell fired from a P47 Thunderbolt fighter plane in the 1940's during advanced fighter pilot training. The 'bullet' is part of the barracks flooring where these very pilots stayed. The total unit stands 6 1/4" tall.

It was tricky making this come out exactly the way I wanted. I didn't want any gold, I felt gold says 'shiny and new' while this pen says 'I have witnessed history'. C&C always welcome, thanks for looking.

The shell is awesome, and it's cool you got the flooring. But it does look a little long. Good job on the tip part too, I can never get that quite right...

The tip was tricky, I actually did that as a separate piece then reattached it to the bullet before final sanding and finish.

Thanks for the feedback on the bullet length :)

Nice job - I like to see something out of the normal run of pens. Almost always (some phrase) I see something I would change if I was doing it again. Maybe that is the same with you BUT I think your pen is neat.
