Just for the record, I deleted the wussie thread only after the original poster requested that it be locked or deleted. As I said in that thread, I did not see any clear violations of the AUP or the TOS so I choose to leave the thread alone. Just because a thought is not popular or "is not good for IAP" is not grounds for deleting the thread.

If you guys that criticized me on the thread or via PM disagree, why don't you propose a new rule that clearly states what will and will not be allowed to be posted. Then I will have grounds to remove a thread that you think is not right. Until then, I will continue to moderate based on the AUP and the TOS and not on emotion.

How about putting a poll on threads that look like they're getting out of hand. When they hit a supermajority (2/3 or 3/5, your call, or we could vote on that too..) in favor of deleting, the hammer falls...

j/k, hit or miss, it doesn't matter to me, but I feel your pain in walking that line... Tough job, but you're doing it superbly

I remained silent on the other thread. Now that the thread has reached its demise, I will comment on this one. TY Curtis, perfect way of handling it(IMO). I had a long long post typed but I just cut it back to this point. I'm not even commenting on which "side" I am on. My last comment is simply this: It seems there is a "group" who can't allow the progression of ideas to happen unless they agree with how that progression takes place. I think they need to get over it and move on. Now notice I did not mention names or specifics. If you feel that my comments apply to you, feel free to PM or e-mail me I'll be glad to "clear it up" privately as I don't think the forum needs to hear/see it.

Well done, Curtis!

Every objection should have to site the exact section of the TOS or AUP that have been "violated".

And, yes, if you think the TOS or AUP missed something, propose a BETTER wording.

Another + Curtis - If you think we got problems, go to the AAW site. Makes me glad we have an benevolent dictator.

You handled it as well as could be expected. It violated no rules and I think you did the right thing. Keep up the good job. And don't let the 10% get to you.

Curtis, it was an excellent decision on your part. We are all proud of you for doing such a hard job w/O any remunerations. There seems to be few that are trying to pick a fight here lately and other members are gracious enough not to feed into their ill feelings. The intentions of the other thread was to invite more participants and the creator of the thread meant no disrespect to anyone. But, just like anything else it took a different life of its own.
I started getting attacked on my posts by the same people and I did not feed into their intentions either. A good friend told me lately it may be the heat that is getting to some people.

You did a good moderator job on this thread. You post a comment when it was necessary to put thing back on track and made it perfectly clear about the rules and why you where keeping it live. I propose Jeff double your salary.!!

I'm not offended easily, and I truly love this site. You guys do an awesome job and I applaud each of you.. THANKS and Keep up the Good Work!!
