Very brittle. Might see about tobacco from a cigar or shredded tobacco from cigarettes.
Lived in Ky for several years. Saw lot of bakker as the locals called it.
This was done many years ago here but I don't remember who it was. I've had some success with some leaves over the years but I glued them while they weren't fully dry so I could wrap them without them breaking, and then let them dry on the tube. Then I coated them with mod podge to seal them before casting.
Old trick it making dry leaf wrappable again. Take a Tupperware like container put a damp paper towel, put a plate over towel, and put tobacco leaf on plate. Seal Tupperware for 30 minutes. Can wrap that stuff again no problem. Please no one ask how I know this.
Barry Gross included this as one of the pens made during the week long workshop he teaches at Marc Adams. That was 8 years ago. Not sure if it is still included. Very interesting process and results in a 'unique' writing instrument.
