I dug out some pieces of tree stumps in my yard that have been 30+ years in the making (time since the tree was cut.) The wood had some interesting patterns in it, almost like grooves.

I cut some up, stabilized them with Catcus Juice, then cast them with some poly resin with a burgundy dye. Came out kind of interesting. I put the first two on a Mesa Gold-Ti kit. Must have been okay, because I sold the first one the very next day at a show before I even had a chance to snap a picture.

Here's the 2nd one, the wood in the background is part of the stump so you can see what it was like.

Got a few more in the works.
