Hate...I mean Hate ANY click pen...many others are sad, but did I say I HATE clicks? I do!!!

I have not done any click pens yet, but I did buy a click Cartridge Bullet Pen kit from Woodcraft (same as Berea Hardwoods kit). With all the negative comments on click pens, in general, does this one fall into the same category? If so, I am tempted to just return it for the twist version. I made one of those recently, and did have a transmission problem (came apart right out of the bag). Woodcraft sent me another, and it was fine, and my other two kits seem fine.

I am amazed that cheap click pens from the office supply stores are so reliable, and so many kits are rated so bad. Maybe the difference between making millions vs. thousands of something, but still troubling to wonder if clicks are just to be avoided completely.

Normally happy with Woodcraft stuff, but recently bought 15 click bullets for an order...3 had incorrect parts and two had faulty parts...know this stuff was assembled in Taiwan so can't really put the blame on them. They also corrected the errors..but as I'm 40 miles away from them..was a bit of a PITA..also had a couple Wall street ll's with incorrect parts..once again, 80 roundtrip..

I am pretty close to a Woodcraft, so I tend to get something in the store, rather than ever ordering online. For internet ordering, there are certainly lower cost alternatives.

When I contacted Woodcraft about the faulty part, I had to explain that I did not purchase online. I was asked to go to the store, and I told them that stock was hit or miss at the store, and so I expected them to send me a replacement part. I was polite, but also firm, and the girl on the phone understood my reasoning. Unfortunately, the turnaround of about a week is the negative when you wait for them to mail you replacements. I have noticed kits in the store with parts missing, and always look twice before buying a kit in the store. Maybe some other frustrated customer is getting replacement parts on their own, from the store's inventory of kits!

I really do not like the Classic American/Americana ballpoint line. The pens just seem off balance to me. The guy at my Woodcraft recommended that style for my first pen. I had no trouble making it, but I was not impressed with the end product.

As has already been mentioned, the Gemini (pen or pencil). I made one of each for my daughter, and she mercifully lost them.

The only thing I like about them is.... um..... knowing I'll never make another one!.:biggrin:

I have to vote for the CSUSA combo pen/pencil kit. No jeer on CSUSA however. They immediately refunded the purchase price and also gave me an additional credit for my "aggravation." KUDOS:smile::smile::smile:

Big Ben Cigar Rollerball and FP kits. The threading is awful, and the center band assembly has "black hanging chad" on the inside that leaves black marks on the nib. I made a couple. They are in my "Pens of Shame" box.

I would have to say that the worst kits I have ever used....would be the Artisan Click pen & pencil kits from CSUSA.

I ordered 50 of each, and I had the most problems with the pencil kits. overall the transmissions stopped working on about 20 of them. and the 24K gold plating rubbed off on some.

Overall I was very disappointed with the pencil kits, and somewhat disappointed with the pen kits.
