Worst Day

Everything was going great, beautiful day, wife's happy, had a super good morning shopping at local Woodcraft store. Then it happened, as per my usual habit of not closing my CA bottle, when it got knocked over guess where that stuff went? Oh no!! not my L.S. Starrett 1" mikes.
After a through soaking in acetone I did manage to get them apart and all the CA cleaned out. 2 1/2 hours of fussing and fuming my mikes are back in use. Two lessons learned:

1. Keep top on CA bottle

2. CA is stickier than baby do on a wool blanket.

Ben ... I do believe we have all had days like this. Glad you were able to save your Starrett tool without to much fussing. You gotta remember I am just over the hill from you and your better half.

Did the same thing a year ago with my Mitutoyo , except the acetone effectively destroyed the housing , and about $200 .
