I was thinking about it. I'm looking for something to drill blanks on the lathe and turn bottle stoppers etc. I don't see me doing bowls. Opinions? This or a collett chuck?

Is this a good chuck for drilling? or is a collett better? i am int he same boat as you

Great chuck, but you might have to buy additional jaws to do drilling. Ones that close pretty small. The thing about it is, you can drill blanks with one and turn other things, like bowls later, you can't do that with a collet chuck. What you really need to plan on is having both eventually, because trust me you will.
