Small threaded boxes is my goal. This is my first attempt, it's not pretty, just trying to figure out the process.

What wood is this? How did you the threads - hand chasing, or a jig?

I enjoy making small boxes. I would like to progress to threading, but haven't made the leap yet.

Personally I used the Sorby threading tools. I think it took me a few tries to get the motion down and find a speed I was comfortable with.

It's just some maple. Per the research I did, most people that hand chase threads, say you pretty much need to use exotics for hand chasing so I went ahead and bought a chefware threading jig. Going that route let's you use pretty much any wood. This simple experiment already taught me a lot. Trying again tomorrow. I'm like a kid on Christmas Eve, I won't be able to sleep.
