Wood species question

I know I have seen a good list of the kind of woods we use to make pens. It had the scientific name description and where it is from.
I think it was through a supplier. Thought it was Craft Supply but cant locate it.
Any idea?

You forgot to put the other common name for pecan on your blog...."pecan-crete!" The stuff is like trying to turn granite. Not so bad for pens, but bowls are a real challenge.
