When I went to visit my brother last week & picked up his chain saw, he also gave me a few chunks from an old wild cherry tree. I processed a little of it this morning & it is some gorgeous wood.
We also popped over to visit our cousin, Butch Dohmann who restored an old Chuck Wagon and also does some woodwork. Butch gave me a bunch of his extra kiln dried mesquite lumber (including two boards that are 4x4x48), a longleaf pine board, some ERC bowl blanks, and a couple of pieces of oak that used to be wheel spokes on his Chuck Wagon. I gave him a couple of pens & a few jars of honey - we both thought we got the better end of the trade.
Lots of fun wood to work with!
