Can anyone tell me a good place to find descriptive information on various types of woods. looking for info I can list with my pic of my pen to tell prospective customers a little about the wood that was used. thanks

I do the same thing with my pens. I find that a Google search on the wood variety results in lots of useful information. I try not to plagiarize any one web site, but glean bits and pieces of info from several different sites to incorporate into my own write-up. Wikipedia is often helpful as is thewoodexplorer.com .

This site has pictures .... its a little challenging to navigate, but a wealth of information. Most species they have several cuts of wood and some finished pieces so you can see how wood changes via the use of tools.
