I was given these blanks as a gift but don't know the species. The label says AC Spec 1. Any thoughts?

Thought I would try a quick Sierra. Drilling it smells purfumey not stringent like aeromatic cedar.

My initial thought was Acacia / Wattle due to the sharp demarcation between the heartwood and sapwood. That would make the label stand for AC (Acacia?), Spec (Species?)- Dave

Thanks for all the help. I am going with Acacia. Acacia is a genus not a species. The wood database has 30 species of acacia. I was also given some wenge that was packaged the same and the dot sticker said "wenge" so the AC on this sticker must mean something and acacia sounds logical. Since there are so many species I think the spec 1 on the lable just designated one of the species of acaia this vendor had.
