Here's a section of a cane that I can't ID. I know I have seen this wood before but just can't remember. It may be some kinda catcus or other plant. It is solid and heavy and this piece is about 1 1/2" in dia. It's big enough to turn a pen from it. Somebody must know what it is. I will know if someone get the right guess. I just can't remember.....another senior moment.

Dave, after reading for the past hour on the Walking stick cabbage (or Kale), I don't think this is that. It is also not Cholla but both are great guesses. Now, Giant Asparagus, it also not but that gave me a good laff. I am sure glad you put me on to the Cabbage as I was fascinated by what I read to the point that I have the seeds ordered from 2 different places (in the U.K.) and a cane also from there. And I got on the Ebay-U.K. and that is a whole new world. Have to do some mental calculations to the money but it is very different stuff with woods like Irish Blackthorn. Thanks for the guesses, keep trying.

Yucca and Ocotillo are also maybes but I don't think Ocotillo is very strong or heavy when dry but this piece is. I don't know about Yucca, I'm gonna check more.
