Wood grip help

I want to do the wood grip too, but i'm having trouble removing the grip from the el grande, any tips? oh and do you hit from the side of the threads that go into the body or the other side?

I've read the article but the el grande grip is plastic, seems to be one piece all together, hmm i may be able to turn down the plastic into a tenon

If you look on the last page, there are specific instructions for the El Grande
