Black Alder is from Scotland also known as Common Alder (Alnus Glutinosa). You could find it online or go through NCWoods on Ebay. I have purchased blanks from them in the past and got quality products.

Actually, Hoss, Scotch Pine is the national tree of Scotland (it's all coming back to me now)...

I was looking up pictures in my photo album, and this is bringing back some memories of my trip there in 2000...

Burr Elm as we Scots call it (Elm Burl) is one of the best looking woods, as is Yew wood.
