Wood Dye?

Whats a good wood dye to use for the whole blank such as box elder?

CSUSA used to sell Chestnut brand that got great reviews. I bought some but haven't used any yet so can't comment on personal level.

They do carry other brands now both in powder (water soluble) and liquid (alcohol based) form.

I just love the Chestnut spirit based dyes. Very user friendly, not affected by CA and have not had any fading problems yet.

I don't believe Craft carries the Chestnut brand any more, call and find out. They do have their Artisan Brand. Woodcraft also carries alcohol based dyes by Behlen.

Whats the process you use to dye.do you soak the blanks for x amount of hrs then let dry for so long?
