I have one. Haven't tried it yet. The class I took at Wood Craft demo'd one and it did work there. Was very easy to use and sharpened quickly. My 1 (yes, only 1 at this time) fingernail bowl gouge hasn't needed sharpening yet, but it is getting close.

I bought the skew attachment and was not too impressed with it. I just want to make sure this jig is worth the money. Has anybody else had problems with the skew attachment?

I have the fingernail/side grinding jig and I use it all the time. It works very well and takes only a few seconds.
I use a card size diamond hone between sharpenings.

I have the fingernail/sidegrinder jig and use it prior to turning every bowl I make. I works great if used correctly. I have a block of wood glued to the bench top beside the grinder that sets the tip of the gouge 2 inches from the end of the jig and I have another mark on the jig itself for the correct angle on the bevel. If these settings are right it puts a good edge on the gouge.

Darren; I have both the gouge jig and the skew off-set. I use both and like both. I do however prefer to "flat" sharpen my tools rather than the hollow grind that grinder puts on a bevel. I use a belt sander to sharpen my tools. I have a Wolverine base mounted under the belt sander to support the tools.

[Coming up from the shop after roughing out a quartersawn zebrawood bowl] Yes I've got one and yes, it works. You do have to know how to set it up, but once done you're home free. I like the hollow grind - it let's me rehone the edge a few times before going back to the grinder.

I use one and it works great. But pay attention to the instructional CD cause you have to use it right and set the gouge up the same each time.
