One of the flameworked marble topped stopper recipient couples
(see recent post:
http://www.penturners.org/forum/f45/flameworked-marble-topped-stoppers-158620/)

had me over for dinner to show off the stopper. They said "let's put on some music".

I thought: put on some music ...hmmmm...

Thus the Wireless MicroSpeaker Stopper was born today; steps:

Turn some maple - not much grain interest in this one...so...
Dress it with jewelers copper mesh.
Brush on some Alumilite UV resin.
UV cure for 30min. with a 48 watt nail curing lamp.
Make a 20ga. copper bezel - torch anneal, solder, texture it on a silversmithing stake, patina with torch followed by liver of sulfur.
CA glue the bezel to the turned maple base.
USB charge the speaker, then press it into the bezel (secure fit, but easily removable for recharging).
Put on some music - sounds great, plays for 2+ hours on a charge, receives cell phone or other wireless device signal at 30' range.

(Listening to John Coltrane's "Ballads" album as I write this)
Fun!

(Thinking about some variations on this little theme...hmmm...)

Happy Monday to all - Bob
