The weathermen have been predicting accumulating snow today, tonight and into tomorrow. Anywhere from 6" to 10 " depending on what part of North East Wisconsin you live in. About 4 inches fell and while there was a lull I thought I would clear the sidewalks and driveways. I did both of my neighbors first but when I went to do mine, the shear pins snapped on my Toro and I ended up shoveling by hand.

Lesson 1: Always do your driveway first.

Lesson 2: Don't move to Wisconsin from Florida like I did.

Lesson 3: If the snow ain't finished,(a lull means more to come??) just wait so you only have to do the job once.:biggrin::biggrin:

A friend of mine from Wisconsin emailed me one year. "Spring is coming....I can see the top of the round pen!"

For you non-horsey people a round pen is a training pen with six foot high walls.

Get a second snow blower as a spare.
Finish the job and then work on the broken one.
Have them both ready for the next snow fall.

I almost had the same thing happen. 2 am... Took care for the neighbors and then when starting on mine ..... ran out of gas.
Nobody had any extra around. Had to wait till the morning to get some.

As much as I don't want to work in snow, I would welcome being snowed in right now, just so I could stay at home and get some work done!

I bought a snow blower 2 years ago and now wonder why I waited so long. My six year old wants to shovel but I'm sure he'll figure out its work by the time he's old enough to actually help. lol
