My one year old, and three year old sons loved helping me chop up the colored pencils and put them in the mold for this pen. We only get to see their grandma a couple times each year, so we wanted to give her something special during her visit. She loved it!

I cut the crimping off beer caps and then scraped and sanded the back.
Then I wrapped the caps around the tubes and cast with Polyester Resin.

I find the pencil pen especially attractive because of the accurate alignment of the individual pieces and the color arrangement !!!
There is no doubt that the two little boys had a blast with their Dad helping make this one, and also no doubt that Grandma was totally thrilled !!!

Thanks Mal! My boys loved helping, and I love finding ways to include them. (They are still so young that there aren't a lot of ways to bring them into the pen making process.)
