I finally bought the new Starcraft II game. Bought the entire collector set, totally worth the $100, it's a really cool set and I haven't even tried the game yet. It's been 15 minutes at least and the game is installing but only at 33%..that's a big game!

I loved the original game until my son ruined the cd. This collector set has a cool looking key that plugs in the USB, has 20 meg of free storage space and the original Starcraft and expansion set on it too. Can't wait for the game to load, I hope it's not more than my computer can handle. I do have an aftermarket video card and the computer itself is only a year old, so I should be ok. Might have to upgrade the monitor though, as 22" might not be big enough for the full effect.

I bought Wings of Liberty and played it lots. I'm not one for multiplayer Starcraft but I did the campaign many times working up in difficulties and then a couple times on the hardest difficulty.

Then I made my own custom maps for playing against multiple CPU players on brutal. I would make myself a section that was easy to defend, gave access to all 3 races and had unlimited crystal and gas to mine (but wouldn't start with anything extra), then I'd go against as many brutal opponents as I could handle. I got the idea from somebody who had done similar and I ran with it. I forget how many brutals I could handle at once but it was quite a few... 6 maybe... It was a blast!

I started installing this game at 11 am. Now it is 12:48. The game installed in 56 minutes. Since then it has been downloading updates..bug fixes and what not. I'm on high speed and have now downloaded about 100 mb of fixes. I hope this finishes up soon, because I have a daily download limit and it's coming up real fast at this rate!

The campaign is single player and you can play custom single player games but...

It will try to connect to battle.net every time you start. If it can't connect, your achievements won't be given. You will want to let it connect if at all possible. Sometimes a temporary loss of connectivity while doing a mission can cause an achievement not to be awarded. It is recommended that you pause your game if your connection is lost to avoid missing the achievements.

There will be a lot of updates for someone installing from scratch.

Your not kidding. I have 190 mb of patches and I had to close the installer because 200 is my daily limit. I'll have to resume early in the morning when I get up. I have unlimited downloads between something like 1 am and 7 am. If I max out my downloads then the internet won't work for the rest of the day at all, and when my wife gets home she will go ballistic on me, and that scares me!
