We are pondering turning some wild boar tusk pens. Would like to hear from some who have purchased and turned tusk. At least for us the option would be to purchase the tusk online. What do you look for in a good tusk?

No Guarantees but it might behave like antler, at least nearly so. I wrote an article = =library - to tell folks how I did it so you might start there. If anything, the tusks ought to be more stable and less smelly. P.

Not sure about things like wharthog, but feral pig tusks are actually hollow and can break apart into several pieces. I would think the only way to turn it would be to fill it with something turnable but then when you cut it away you would see whatever you used as fill.

I bought a few 20 years ago. Very thin wall and hollow. No way could I figure out how to use it. Other than making small pieces and embedding.
