Wig Stand

One of the outreach projects that our turning club does is making Wig Stands for patients undergoing chemo treatments. This is one just completed and will start on another one. It stands ~9" tall and the base is ~5" in dia. It is painted with Black and highlighted using Gold Jo Sonja Iridescent paint.

Very unique. Heard of others giving them to wig retailers for chemo patients.

My latest wig stand, "The Lady in Red". The base and hat are Cypress and the stand piece is Oak. The hat was painted using Red Acrylic paint with a sealer coating and the body is painted Black and then accented with Red iridescent paint. It will be included in with the other ones that our woodturning club donate to the cancer center for patients undergoing chemo treatments.
