transport doesn't give you virii... Aps and software, or unsecured ports do.

Secure your wi-fi and short of a Chicom attacked, your good... WEP at a min, WPA better, hide your SSID and MAC filter and your pretty secure. The laptop I am on is using wi-fi and its secure. (I also do this for a living)

4G and its point to point so you ride right to the tower, its secure.

But if you have no anti-virus software or don't use common sense your gonna get nailed no matter what.

We get virii on our Secret networks because folks do stupid stuff...and they are closed networks.

There's been a rash of Mac malware attacks lately too. As soon as a target is big enough, the bad guys will find a way to attack.

Don't sweat the network. Get some good anti virus and don't believe any "You've got a virus" pop up windows you get.

I'm a fan of Sophos for AntiVirus. It's free for Macs, but they only sell the Windows flavor to enterprises.
