So that you can work out how to mount a generator on it, to power the lathe and not cost anything:biggrin:
 
Why not? It "Ships direct from Manufacturer" so all they have to do is place it on their site, they are the middle man, get a few $$, and they pass it off to the manufacturer.
 
Larry is right seems to be a lot of these marketing agreements going on now. I even saw that K Mart was offering a 14" Jet bandsaw recently!
 
Have you tried searching for anything on Walmart's website lately? They are like Amazon and what you find in the search results is not necessarily what they sell but will drop ship from other retailers. Makes it very difficult to figure out what you can run down to the store and pick up.
 
My concern that the big box stores will sell everything eventually because of their infrastructure. This is never a good thing for the customers. I like the internet stores we use as turners but the freight cost are only going it increase and make things too expensive for some turners to afford. I like specialty stores more than one store like Sam's that sells everything.
 
Went to a craft fair in Kerrville TX and the local club had a wooden lathe with a stationary bicycle to power the lathe belt driven. People were fighting to get to ride the bike.

They usually will tell you if it is internet only.
And, you can buy anything in the website and have it shipped to your store free for pick-up. They notify you when it is in the store.
