We are voting this afternoon after my wife is done work. We always go to the polls together. Remember it's our right and privilege to vote. Our fore fathers and veterans have fought for this right.
 
As a American/Veitnam vet, I highly value my right to vote.But I do wish to vote for some one instead of against.I "will" be there shortly.Thank the good Lord I have that privilege.

I'd comment but sure I'd be removed for 'political/religious' TOS violations ;) Though seems a little lax around here when it comes to religious... long as you're on the favored side of that coin.
 
Tomorrow it will start for 2016. There should be a law or something to stop all this politicing for at least 24 months or longer. Stop and run the City, County, State and Nation that"s what you were elected to do.
 
Can't remember the country but ALL campaigning stops the Sunday before election day. I would happily support that idea here. We had to turn the phone off last night. It was insane. Got to hang up on both parties though, before we pulled the plug.
 
I was living in England in 1992 and was at an event when a man (black) from South Africa was speaking. It was very moving as he described the new opportunity he would have to vote very soon after that. Made me think of the opportunity we have here in the US and how it can be taken for granted.

Today, I exercised that opportunity we have all been given.
 
I liked the elections in England. Call an election and then it is 24 hours/day, 7 days/week for 4-5 weeks. Loved all the bags under their eyes when they were shown on TV as the results were coming in....
 
went at lunch time, picked up my wife on the way...got in line, mine is fine, she got "purged" and had to do a paper provisional ballot... still only took about 35 minutes in to out.

:confused::confused: MARC; I have a question for you. Do you get all the political ads on the Canadian radio and TV stations that we get here in the USA ?? Does your programing come from the BBC ?? Having a Queen running your country realy saves the taxpayers a lot of camp-pain money. That's a good boy you have there. Peace Jim S
 
I am disturbed about all the soldiers that won't get to vote, or whose vote won't make it through our system in time to count. That is a national disgrace that we have had plenty of time to fix and nothing has been done!:mad:

Dee and I walked into the polling center @ 2:45, voted and walked out 15 minutes later. Remember if you didn't vote no matter who wins or loses you don't have the right to complain:frown:.

Trying to rule the world? Isn't that very British of you? :biggrin: (and YES that is just a joke, not a political statement. )

As for who wins - again a reminder to avoid partisan conversation even if its not YOUR partisan.

As for the topic - I voted this morning. For those of us in swing states, we are WELL aware how much voting matters. (Not trying to say that its not important anywhere, but agreeing that its important to vote!)

All military units have a "Voting Officer" assigned. It is their responsibility to ensure that all unit members eligible to vote get registered and cast absentee ballots. On 15 years of active duty I never missed the opportunity to participate in a local, state or national election.

Most military members I now are very active voters as it impacts them so directly.
 
I have done my duty and cast my ballot. Truly blessed to live in a nation where I get the chance to have my vote counted!

....and if it doesn't go the way I want then I can at least say "Don't blame me! I voted for the other guy!". :bulgy-eyes:

WHich is why it should be a requirement for the president to be unmarried. But then there would be a lot "intern" issues. Maybe there is no winning.

Thanks for the info Terry. I am hearing a different story in the news. Of course, the news is no longer very dependable.
