I have my wonderful new lathe and would like to start out with a set of those round bar tool rests that I've seen here (recommended by Jimgo). I think that the rest base I have is 1", but I'd have to measure it. I don't have a short rest that fits it. When I sell my delta, the one that goes with that will have to go also. Joe (clewless) gave me a 6" rest, but I think it's either 1/2", or 5/8", for a mini.

I prefer hand made stuff, from folks here, over store bought stuff, when possible. I may as well get it, while I've still got some cash left in my paypal. I'm already on a spending spree for wood.

Thank you so much.

Rob, I don't know if this is the guy you are thinking of, but I know Lamar Sherrill makes a round interchangeable tool rest. I have one of his and the quality is exceptional. His IAP name is SWOODWRKNG.

Thanks all,
I forgot to click "subscribe to this topic" and didn't think anyone was answering my post. What a day. Anyway, Mike: I appreciate your input, but I think I'll go with Lamar. He's the one I was looking for. I almost bought one for my last lathe, but I'm glad I waited. My new lathe is thicker.

Thanks all. I'll send him an e-mail. My back's out today, so I'll have to wait a day or two, to start on my new shop.
