These blanks come from a 400 year old White Oak struck by lightning in California. Legend has it that this tree was listed on the National Historic Register. The blanks are from cut-offs I got from a friend.
The tree was quarter sawn so some of these blanks have a lot of flecking which gives the finished pens depth (kinda 3D).
The wood is very heavy an dense. Its been naturally drying since 2006. Make me an offer on the first 3 batches of (4) blanks each.
Size 5" x 1" x 1".
These are also great for doing inlays that follow the grain of the wood. Blue turquoise or dark blue mica really make the pens "pop." email me back and I'll let you in on a secret ingredient that really works great."
It takes more work but I get $50- $100 per completed pen.
