Here it is August already and in about a week the kids will be going back to school (at least some of them) ... Summer is almost gone already.

I swear that since I retired from the corporate world they must have removed about 150 days from the calendar year...

Am I the only one who notices this

School started for my high school son on August 3rd. Seemed like we had no summer. I think the older w become the shorter the years seem because they are a smaller and smaller percentage of our life. At the age of ten, one year is 10% of or life. At age 50 a year is only 2% of our life.

Nope.

My kids don't start back in school until September (NJ is always after Labor Day), but with all of the snow days they had to make up at the end of the year this Summer has seemed especially short.

I'm one of the people going back to school in a week (I didn't take any summer classes) and it does feel too soon. But summers do feel a bit longer to me than most of you.

You're right there Joe, when I was in elementary and high school summers (our time off was essentially Memorial Day to Labor Day) seemed to last a really long time, actually time seemed to pass slower in summer than in the school year because there was no difference between weekends and weekdays so it seemed like just one long stretch of carefree days.

I agree with you Leroy, the years seem to fly by now.

Today I visited a large comapny we often do work at but my access card wouldn't open the barrier. I told the security guy I didn't know why, as I'd been there within the last six months. The guy checked my card on his computer and then told me it was 18 months since my last visit!!

Another thing I've noticed is that as we get older, our hearing is supposed to deteriorate. But I think mine must be getting better as my tolerence for noise is definetely getting less. I often come home and tell everyone to turn the telly or radio down.

LOL, I do love that loo roll analogy though!! Classic!!
