I have a Grizzly G9247. Last night the belt broke. Grizzly said the factory that made those is out of business and they dont know where to get one. I hate to throw out a lathe over a belt. Where do I find one for this?
I dont know your lathe but would one of the segmented or link type belts be an option? In a pinch I have used 550 paracord and yep even pantyhose will work. Not a long term solution but in a pinch might work.
Make sure its OK with the wife first! Especialy if they are on the wife!
But then again.......you might not have turning pens on your mind anymore after that!?
Well, 6 places and nobody knows where to get anything close to this belt. Looks like my trash can is going to get a bit heavier this week. Any suggestions on where to sell the MT1 attachments? I was thinking Craigslist.
Try beltsforanything.com. They have a phone number listed. Have all of the dimensions of your belt available. Width, number of ribs if it has any, length (outside circumference of the belt).
The belt should have a number on it, somewhere on the back of the belt. It may need to be cleaned off to find it.
The number should lead you to a new belt somewhere.
I don't know your lathe, but if it is a V-Belt, you can simply calculate the belt you need using a V-Belt calculator (measure the width from the old belt).
