PORT CANAVERAL, Fla. (AP) - A steering problem caused a new cruise ship to roll abruptly Tuesday, throwing passengers and crew to the deck and injuring dozens, including two critically, officials said.

One passenger said immediately before the ship turned violently he heard "Ready, About!" The captain of the ship, the owner of a small cruising sailboat, was not available for comment.

Wish I could take credit for that second paragraph.

For those of you who don't know, Ready, About is the command you give when you are about to tack (turn) and swing the boat from one side to the other.

Another reason to avoid cruises! I know everyone seems to love them but I can't see me ever doing it. Much rather just travel somewhere in the USA, except someday we would like to do one of the Alaska cruises.

Some of our friends went on a cruise and all they talk about is the endless buffets, seems cheaper to just park the motorhome in the Golden Corral parking lot. [;)]
