I woke up this morning to no hot water. I called a plumbing service to have my hot water heater looked at. After the $50 service call there was the $125 repair bill. The tech said he changed the thermal coupler and cleaned the lines and burner.
I guess the upside is I have hot water again. You don't realize how important hot water is until you need to take a shower in cold water early in the morning.

I read the bill incorrectly. It was only $125 total so that makes me feel a little bit better. I enjoyed my hot shower today, and maybe a little more than usual after my shower yesterday.

It was suggested by a couple of family members to try to sell some of my pen blanks so I'm looking for a local turning group to see if I can sell some of my pen blanks to help cover the cost of the repair. I haven't had any luck so far but I'm hopeful.
I really hate to sell them but...

That was good news! I had a similar issue last year when I woke up to no water. I had to spend an hours shoveling snow to get to the well so the boom truck could service it. Turned out to be a bad pump. 2 days later after installing another bad pump and replacing it and water lines to the well, my hot water heater went out.
It was not a good February! lol ( I can finally laugh about it)

Hot warm is on the top of my list. I grew up in Maine, and for years....no one could understand why the hot water only lasted for 3minutes. Come to find out, the line was going the wrong way....I still think it was a plan by my dad.

Scott (-20*F outside and 3minutes...that's a fast shower)
