I was really disappointed in this Buckeye "burl". Curly, but definitely not burly. I decided to celestialize it with some mica in the finish. I even made a new word. After a couple trial runs on the way to proper size, this is what I ended up with. The embellishment seems appropriate for a Zodiac pen.

Tapatalk will only let me do medium size pics because I am too cheap to buy it, so I hope they show the sparkle OK.

I heartily agree with you that the Buckeye is not very 'burly'. I haven't run into that with any of the buckeye burl I've obtained so far. Too bad on that, but the finished pen does look nice and I can see the mica sparkle.

Yeah, I got a beautiful piece to make a cat pen for my wife. Hard to tell when they don't trim the "crust" off the pieces before they package them, though. It gave me an opportunity to try something different.
