what woods to look for in Louisiana

Hi all,
I'm visiting mom in St. Amant, Louisiana - lots of relatives with land, woodpiles, etc. Wondering what woods to look for. I already got some cypress, looking for pecan. Also, any tips on finding spalts, etc?

Lousiana? Forget about finding wood, concentrate on finding gumbo. And crawfish. And greens. And shrimp. And chicory coffee. And......... jeeze it's a long list, and it's all wonderful!
