What to do with leftovers cut in the wrong direction? Turn it!

I bought a very large block of yellow, silver and brown Spectraply and I cut pieces off to make very popular shave sets. The leftover piece was oriented in what I usually think was the wrong direction. I thought about just cutting more stoppers off in the right direction and decided to use the pieces as is. I'm pleased with the result especially how the bands of color match Ruth Niles surgical o rings. Kind of pretty to me.

I was able to get a hold of some 3" thick spectraply scrap 2 years ago in the royal poinciana colors. On made one pen from it so far but having options is great. It was a gift pen, horizontally striped and went over well.

I agree, that stuff is too expensive to waste...

The stoppers look good and should attract a few "quitters"..... that's what I tell my customers about the bottle stoppers... they're the most useless thing I make and are for quitters.... usually draws a laugh and often a sale.

Very nice! There's nothing wrong with stoppers made in the standard orientation at all, I just happen to like the "wrong" ones more.
