What to about acrylic ribbons spinning in your turning???

If you use dust collection, be sure to check the intake screen. Mine has one and it gets clogged with the ribbons. I have to remove the fitting and clean the screen. I keep a waste basket right under the intake just for this purpose.

I use a 1-1/2 inch paintbrush. I glued a magnet to the handle so it sticks to the side of my lathe for easy access. I also attached a paintbrush to the top of my dust collector hood and I use it to brush my carbide tool against whenever it accumulates chips, dust, or ribbons. - Dave
