I have the Delta AP300 dust collector. As most know, the bag is not very effective, as it is a 30 micron bag. Does anyone have a source for 1 micron bags that would fit this DC?

As usual, TIA,

William, I respectfully urge you to consider a Wynn cartridge filter instead of a bag. It will give you the superior filtration you're after, for sure. What's more, you should see a dramatic increase of suction from your machine with one of their filters. Since I put one on my Jet 1100DC, I can easily say it has doubled my suction. And who couldn't use more suckage?! :P

I have 35A100SBOL - the fabric one. Rick Wynn is very helpful in selecting the right sized filter for your model of DC. He also explained that the fabric one is basically a "lifetime filter" for woodworkers. It can be sprayed clean, it can also take the force of compressed air blowing from the outside to clean the pleats.

I'm sorry for rambling, I'm just an incredibly satisfied custmer who would hate for any Carlin fan to get substandard suckage :D

William,
contact American Fabric Filter, they make custom bags for a very reasonable price:

I think I paid something like $75 for my oversized 1 micron bag.

Your present dust collector may be more effective than you think. The cake of dust that forms on the inside of a good filter bag will itself act as a filter down into the 5-micron or smaller range. The only problem is that puff of dust the comes before the pores in the bag get filled.

Thanks for the ideas. Russ, I never thought about the dust cake improving the filtration.

My problem is that there is a film of dust on everything in the shop. I guess an air scrubber is in order, but I know even less about them than I do dust collectors.

You too, what a surprise. Actually I saw it in a recent woodworking magazine (WOOD I think) where they tested the air scrubbers and the box fan method was the second highest in effectiveness and the lowest cost. Sounded good to me.

Plus, it's quieter!

Mine does double doody in the winter: I strapped two layers of furnace filters to the back of it, then stuck it behind my oil-filled radiator to push some of that lovely heat around the space to get it feeling somewhat less arctic. Works Great! :D

I didn't realize your reputation had grown to such an extent Cav!

ROTFLMAO!! I missed that, Jim. Thanks for the belly laugh.
