What is this wood?

For PITH I was matched up with a very generous gentleman who sent me a box of mostly mystery blanks along with a beautiful pen. I made my first fountain pen out of one of those blanks today and I'd love to know what this wood might be.

I think it could be several types of wood burl, but I couldn't venture to even guess. It sure is attractive on the pen you made.
