What is the preferated material in these blanks

I was at Woodcraft on Saturday, as I always have to do I check the sale barrel they have for Beartooth woods acrylic blanks. I have bought others with the material in it but the transparent parts were a darker, more opaque in appearance and you couldn't see the material in depth like these two colors show it.

I haven't turned any yet, but from the sides were the blanks are cut. The materials is the same or close to the hardness of the resin used.

So does anybody know what this sheet goods is? I am familiar with the great tutorial on pouring the ribbon material. That is mention in threads every once in the while.

Same material. One of the member here did a video on making ribbons with PR. It would be the same but run through a machine to perforate it before folding it into the blank mold.

Ok, I was sort of leaning in that direction, But figured it might be some thing that was already available.
