What is Pi [pie] ?

Ah Grasshopper PI is easy check out Phi or the Fibonachi golden mean theory. (It might be a law but not real sure,) I know the Fibonachi sequence is law, but it's so simple it can't be disproved. Pretty smart guy he was, had a keen eye for nature and numbers.

I have to agree with Matt here... pe-can is what is used for long trips with no stops.

pah-con is what is eaten is pies. At least that is how I was taught to say it. :)

I read a book about Fibonacci (Leonardo of Pisa) and a book on phi. He did not calculate phi (golden mean). He developed the series of numbers that was used to describe the propagation of rabbits. As the sequence continues and you divide the last number by the previous it approaches 1.618.... His greatest contribution was introducing Hindu-Arabic numbers to merchants in North Africa and Europe.

This number recurs infinitely and is known as an irrational number. It is also known as dynamic, because in a sense it's alive. You will NEVER see a golden mean spiral, nor can you graph it. This is because it is a vibration or energy field. So it may be felt or experienced, but because it is an infinite spiral it is not bound by finite mathematics.[/FONT]​
 
More exactly:

phi = (1+sqrt(5))/2.

Or 2*cos(36º).

36º is the angle of the points on a 5-pointed star. It's also the ratio of the sides of the triangle that makes up a point.

Damn interesting number.
