Living longer

Unfortunately the good side of living longer lives, comes with a down side. More expences at or near the end of life.

My father died in 1961 when he was around the age I am now ... he died at home, he was on no medicatation to prolong his life and he didn't even get sent to the hospital. It also didn't cost the family anything to speak of. Today he would probably have, been on at least a couple of medications, lived several years longer and even with medicare it would have cost a small fortune.

I think I put this in the wrong thread.

Some folks seem to think that any mention of government, taxes, regulations or Canada is political.

Well Smitty - from the AUP: "Discussions of politics and religion are not allowed."

The problem with most of those topics (Canada being the exception) - is that yes, it is difficult to comment about them without pushing an agenda or bias and thus being political... There is plenty of other sites on the internet to discuss those things.

Like it or not, those discussions are not allowed here. The only person who can change that is Jeff.

promised

I promised Jeff I wouldn't argue with you --- so I won't.

Hey this all sounds like IAP Politics to me. Is that allowed cause it sounds fun.

I think I will go hide under a burl somewhere to avoid any fireworks. :thunder:

Honest Jeff I am not trying to instigate anything.

Now that would depend on who you are talking to. Linda would tell you that it would take a big one since I am getting pudgy. She would also tell you it would only take a burl eye to cover my political correctness.

Well

Well my daughter is named Linda (and I named her) so you can see who I would tend to agree with there...

I'm biting my nails

Sitting on the edge of my chair, straining forward and holding my breath waiting for the next revelation about Canadian elections to pop from the talking heads.

I included Canada because (in my opinion) whenever anyone writes about Canada it seems to involve things (regulations/taxes/import duties/postal services) which cause Dean, Andrew and Curtis to get the hackles on the back of their necks up.

I don't think it is that at all. It is the constant whining that gets higher and higher pitched until it is an irritating buzz that gives you a migraine.

I will back our MODs on this. It takes the fun out of the forum and leads to hurt feelings. Everyone has their right to an opinion and everyone should be protected from having those opinions forced on them. Everyone also has a right to be wrong. I know I do.
