What do you use to clean your bushings?

Just as it says above. How do you clean your bushings?

I have a small cup that i put just enough of acetone in to submerge the bushings. I leave them in for a few minutes or so while i do other things.

If left uncovered, the acetone will evaporate. I use a small glass jar with lid. That's where the delrin bushings go at the end of each day. Ready for use the next morning.

I usually wipe down with acetone. Sometimes leave in a jar with lid.

I have to admit, I've never cleaned mine. I frequently get CA all over them, and then have to chip that away. I think that takes most of the stuff that would accumulate on them away. The jar o' acetone solution sounds a whole lot easier.

Acetone for me too - I use old pill bottles.

There is no reason to ever get CA on bushings. Get or make some Derlin finishing bushings or just finish with your blank between centers.

If I get CA on the bushings I use a parting tool to clean it off.

I never clean mine. I figure I'll just be getting them dirty again.

I made a wire mesh basket that I place in an old pickle jar with acetone and I throw my delrin bushings in that for a few hours. Then I can just pluck the basket out and the bushings are nice and clean.

You don't!!

Have never needed to clean bushings, steel, delrin or otherwise. Not sure how much CA people are using or technique but sounds like way too much to me.
