Right now I feel like the dog that always chased the bus and suddenly caught it. For several years I have been admiring a piece of wood on display in a Cold Water Creek ladies store. A few months ago, the company announced that they were closing all their stores and going out of business. I thought, "now's my time to go get that piece of wood." However, when I got there, it had a price tag on it of $2,100...just a wee bit out of my league. Well, I have kept my eye on it and watched as the store inventory dwindled and prices on other items and fixtures were reduced, but not this piece of wood. Well, today I stopped by because my wife said it was the last day they would be open. The piece of wood was still there and I decided to make a one-time ridiculous offer. I asked for the manager and told her I wanted to buy it but only wanted to pay $350.00. Long story short my son and I just finished placing it in my dining room. Now, I have to figure out what to do with it. In the store they named it Texas for some reason. I took a picture of my 6'7" son standing next to it to give some perspective. The piece is a full 4" thick and is afixed to metal feet with casters (thank goodness). I have no idea what kind of wood it is. I feel about as stunned as my son looks.
Now, where do I bury this bus?
Thanks, Tomas
