I got a woodchuck pen pro and some beautiful cedar from my son's property in CT.

I also got a little turned lidded box from a local turner friend. I gave him a bunch of mulberry and african sumac and he brought me a lovely little box turned from the sumac.

I got a great re-connection with family. We all agreed that for this Christmas that we would limit gifts to hand made, or a max of $20. In years past, we had all been addicted the commercial "Christmas is about spending big money" that retailers had brainwashed us into believing.

This year was all about spending time together. We also significantly down sized the meals and grocery expenditures. Absolutely nobody was allowed buy presents or food on credit. This went a long way toward minimizing the stress of preparing big meals and clean up after such productions. Everybody was much more relaxed and it better moods.

This is one of the best Christmas seasons in my long history. This was not about impressing with lavish gifts, but instead on focusing on our love for each other. I highly recommend it!

150 PSI Air compressor from my biggest fan! 2 pen blanks from my 5 yo daughter, and Woodcraft G.C.'s from 2 others. It's been a fabulous Christmas! Now it's time to start a little casting....if my Alumilite wasn't a year old.

I got some moccassion slippers from my daughther. The LOML gave me a big box. I said "this box is too big for a GPS." After I dug through the socks and pj bottoms on the bottom I found a tomtom GPS.....

Nothing yet. The family is still spread out for a few days; everywhere from Hawaii to Mongolia (yes, Mongolia). All back next week and we will have our Christmas on Tuesday.

I got a Drill chuck from Harbor Freight and my first Jr. Gent and Zen kits, plus some cash to buy some amalgum mutts. (Anxiously awaiting the next batch!) We're headed out to Utah to my in-laws on Monday where I think I'll get some more lathe related stuff. I'm sure that I'll have to make a stop at CSUSA when I drive by. I'm always excited for Christmas part 2.

I got a c2 mini tool (but I bought hubby the woodchuck pen pro, so one of them - most likely mine - has to go back!) and some new micromesh as my pen related Christmas stuff.

I also got some much wanted kitchen-gadgets. I also received a new hard drive for my computer - so now I will have room to download pictures from my camera from early November!!!

"Santa" was very good to me; and even better for my kids. It looks like a toy store exploded in my living room.

Merry Christmas everyone!!!

Another day of life in my shop ... weather permitting and health issues staying out of the way.

NOT ONE SINGLE PHONE CALL ... This is good as I usually spend more time on the phone than anything else.

Santa gave me a Generator, pair leather boxing gloves, Pair boxing mittens, Heavy Canvas punching bag, speed punching bag, so I can get in better shape, lost 30lbs, goal to lose another 30lbs.
Thats my g o a l !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A twenty dollar gift certificate to Woodcraft. heh, heh, heh, I am going there tomorrow to spend it. New micro mess pads. yippee !!!

The most important thing, our two kids and their families at our home for a few days all together. This hasn't happened for several years. It has really been fun. Plus our daughter pregnancy appears to be going well. She has lost several but this one appears to be going good. We are praying for a new Grandchild in the spring.

My wife went all out for me this year. Slow speed grinder from Woodcraft, and the Wolverine set up with the Varigrind jig. It all started with me going out to buy myself the varigrind to use with my $20 grinder and home made jig but turned into the whole set up! I really wasn't expecting to get all that so I am REALLY happy!

What a Christmas! My employees got me a huge box of deer antler and a $100 Woodcraft gift certificate. My wife and kids got me an IPad...very cool.

Best part of the holiday was a massive road trip that we are still on. San Antonio to Vail (3 days), Vegas for two days, and Sacramento for 3 days. Heading home today! Good together time with the family!

Cyclops Mag Bicycle Trainer, Blue Ray DVD Player, CDs of classic rock (Chicago Transit Authority and Chicago II), for a change up - no tools!

Had a really wonderful Christmas with both boys home from college and everyone at home - pinochle games were in full force, plenty of egg nog and a huge snowfall the day before.

On to New Years!

Best,
Roger GArrett

The wife got me 2 new tires for the car and a cart for lugging the blue boxes to the curb. I got her the other 2 tires and some crafting supplies. We got together with the kids in Oct. and decided not to buy all the gifts this year. We got stuff for the grandkids under 18 but that's it. Just going for a stress free get together at new years.

My Bride keeps asking what I want for Christmas, birthday, anniversary and I always have the same answer, "I have all I want and she is my Bride. Thank you." What more can any man ask for/need than a loving caring partner on his arm sharing their two lives together. If I want or need something throughout the year, I make the purchase when we can afford it. Same on her side. We see no reason to stress the true meaning of Christmas responding to the mass marketing hipe.
With love, let me be the first to wish you a Happy Thanks Giving and the first or last this year to wish you a very Merry Christmas. Not a Scrooge, just forgot to fall for all the adds.

I got lots of nice stuff like books, a sweater and a new case for my newest gun; but what I asked for and got was some nice blutooth headphones to go with my iPad! No tools this year. But I got to spend time with my family, which was precious!

Scott.

All 4 of my kids home at the same time, the first time science last Christmas. My oldest daughter got me an 8" Woodchuck round one … turned the handle today!

I hit the Jackpot, My wife bought me a new to me Ford Ranger, it only has 120,000 miles and it's a 2000 4 door model, Man what a great present, My VW was getting kind of tired, the engine has about 75-or 80 thousand on it and a lot of racing miles. The truck even has a heater, and a Cd player, and I can hear it. Both windows go up and down, WOW I feel soooo happy, but this dumb white junk got all over my Black Truck. and my entire family was around along with a few friends, Yep I actually have a friend or two!!:wink::wink:

My wife got me a small pocket sized doodle pad for the ideas I keep coming up with while out running around, an Idiots guide to learning the guitar so I can further writing my own music, the Secret life of common birds book. I opened the book to a picture of two birds. One had his beak in the others mouth. I said, "Get a room guys." My wife laughed. Then she handed me a small box. Inside the box is the picture of the new PM 3520B she is ordering from Osolnik Machinery. I get it in mid January.

Of course a fine dinner with friends, silly jokes, and time spent in the shop made the day very nice. A very quiet Christmas spent with the finest woman I know.

Hope everyone else had a great day and will have a wonderful New Year filled with surprises, wonder, love, and learning.
