The hard plastic clear highball glasses will hold up but the thin flimsy flexible ones will melt if left too long. I've started washing glass jars from the kitchen and save them to use and use each one more than once. Once the resin in the bottom grows to 1/4 or so of the jar's heightt I trash it and start another. It is surprising how many jars we trash each week. Good luck with your gigantic casting. I hope the casting is a successful one. Let's see, I now casting 16-20 ounces at one time. ;)

Do a good turn daily!

I use large pill and vitamin bottles with the tops cut out. I use a measuring cup to make volume marks and mix what I need. Then I turn the bottles upside down in a trash box. After it dries the residue just peels out. The bottles are good for a dozen pours or so.

Ken,
I have a tutorial on measuring and mixing resin. It shows the mixing cups and measuring cups I use. E-mail me if you want to see it, I'll send it to you. It's a PDF file 137kb.

Most deli containers work well also. Look for PP in the recycling code (polypropylene). It has a farily high melt temperature and I haven't melted one yet. You may even be able to buy them in bulk packs at some of the club stores. They come in 8, 12, 16, 24 and 32 oz. versions. I get a lot of use out of the 16 oz ones.

I cut the tops off of empty aluminum cans (like from your favorite "adult" beverage), rinse them, let them dry and they work well. I usually mix 4 ounces in a can. I allways mix 2 colors and pour 8 ounces (4 blanks).

Be carefull, the edges are sharp!!!
